ForgeX Polska Sp. z o.o. are a company with more than 50 years of tradition of manufacturing die forgings for the aerospace industry and other customers. Until 2009 it was a part of the Metallurgy Plant. Currently, it is an important part of the XForge Group together with two forges in France and two in Sweden.
The company has customers in Poland and abroad. More than 50% of output is exported, while 30% is sold to the aerospace industry.
The high quality of even most complex workpieces is confirmed by ISO 9001, ISO/AS9100 certificates and IATF16949.
Our Design and Engineering Department is able to design forgings and machined parts. Designing forging tools combined with CNC programming competence allows a considerable reduction of a new product introduction time.
ForgeX use a well-equipped metallurgical laboratory for testing and assessment of chemical composition, material structure and mechanical properties of various steel types.
In more advanced cases we cooperate with the Institute for Ferrous Metallurgy in Gliwice and Pratt & Whitney Rzeszów.
Non-destructive tests to detect surface defects and cracks are a part of a magnetic particle inspection. ForgeX Polska have two relevant devices: Carl Deutsch to test forgings for the automotive industry and CGM for aerospace forgings.
ForgeX manufacture forgings made of carbon steel, low-alloy steel, high-alloy steel, superalloys, heat-resistant steel, acid- resistant steel, creep-resistant steel and titanium. The weight range of our forgings is from 0.3 to 48 kg.
For the needs of the aerospace industry we offer mainly: gears, turbine and compressor blades, discs and rings.
A big part of our products is designed for trucks, railways and farming machines. It includes Cardan shafts, bearing cases, supports, connecting rods and other components.
The plant capacity is about 5000 tons of forgings per year. Currently, about 3500 tons is manufactured. The plant includes 7 hammer lines (ram weight ranging from 0.5 to 5 tons), 3 press forging lines (1600, 2500 and 4000 tons), a free forging hammer (1 ton), a 3” upsetting machine and a ring roller. The batch material is heated in gas and electric furnaces and in an induction heater.
The required strength properties of our forgings are achieved through heat treatment – normalizing, BY, toughening. This process is classified as a special process, which means it is a subject of continuous control and its parameters are recorded and stored in an electronic database.
The machining centre is equipped with 9 CNC machines and specializes in turning, drilling and milling. When the customer requires more advanced machining operations we use our validated suppliers.
The workpieces are inspected at each stage of the manufacturing process to ensure full control of the process.
Great practical experience, enhanced by modern technologies implemented to design and manufacturing processes, allowed a dynamic development of the company that successfully reached a strong worldwide position in most demanding branches of industry.
